A collection of the best moments from the ‘Ricky Gervais Show’ with further musings from Karl Pilkington, star of Sky 1’s ‘An Idiot Abroad’. Karl Pilkington’s is a brilliant mind, locked inside a perfectly round head and uncluttered by the unhelpful constraints of logic or common sense. He both baffles and enlightens with his take on topics as diverse as population control, the rights of monkeys and how long you can stay alive with your head chopped off. Featuring the best conversations from ‘The Ricky Gervais Show’ podcasts and original illustrations and scribblings by Karl Pilkington, this is a unique trip into the mind of our most innovative visionary – or, as Gervais and Merchant know him, ‘the funniest man alive in Britain today’.
All episodes from the first and second series of the Sky 1 comedy travelogue. In the first series Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant send Karl Pilkington, who doesn't like travelling, to visit the Seven Wonders of the World. Hoping the trip will force Karl out of his comfort zone, broaden his mind and change his outlook on the world, the pair keep in touch with him by telephone from London as he offers his unique insights on the Great Wall of China, Christ the Redeemer in Brazil, Petra in Jordan, Machu Picchu in Peru, Chichen Itza in Mexico, the Taj Mahal in India and the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Series one episodes comprise: 'China', 'India', 'Jordan', 'Mexico', 'Egypt', 'Brazil', 'Peru' and 'Karl Comes Home'. In the second series Ricky and Stephen arrange for Karl to go to various destinations including New Zealand, China, Thailand, Alaska, Africa, America and Japan. During his travels Karl goes bungee jumping, fights Mongolian wrestlers, visits the North Pole, journeys along the famed Route 66 and more. Series two episodes comprise: 'Desert Island', 'Trans-Siberian', 'Dolphin Swim', 'Whale Watching', 'Meet a Gorilla', 'Route 66', 'Mount Fuji' and 'Karl Comes Home'.
